About Me
I am Anita Horvath, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), maternal mental health practitioner, and birth story specialist.
In a former chapter of my life, I worked as an educator with children. Witnessing the emotional dance between parents and kids inspired me to study family therapy—and today, I help individuals, couples, and families find clarity, connection, and healing in their own lives.
Psychotherapy
I’m trained in EMDR and Parts & Memory Therapy, and I take a holistic approach—honoring both our human nature and your unique life story. I offer trauma-informed therapy and EMDR for individuals seeking to process and heal from past experiences and address anxiety in the present. Find out more on the Therapy page.
I also specialize in supporting mothers through pregnancy, postpartum, and the emotional challenges of early motherhood. Maternal mental health holds a special place in my heart. I believe that when mothers are centered, communities thrive. Explore my Perinatal Therapy offerings to learn about my unique approach to supporting mothers and families in navigating pregnancy and postpartum challenges and life shifts.
Birth Story Listening
I also offer Birth Story Listening, a specialized process for mothers, partners, and birth workers. In these sessions, I provide a supportive, reflective space, guiding clients to explore and integrate childbirth experiences and move toward the resolution they are seeking. Learn about Birth Story Listening to see if this process is right for you.
Approach & Values
I bring curiosity and critical thinking to my work, respectfully questioning systems and beliefs that may no longer serve us. Being a holistic therapist, I value physical well-being and encourage my client’s to take care of their nourishment, sleep, and movement. The health of our body influences our mind, and when disrupted, will cause mental health concerns.
Life Outside Practice
Outside of my practice, I’m a mother, wife, outdoors lover, and Buddhist practitioner. I split my time between the U.S. and Europe, and my experiences across cultures and communities enrich my perspective and inform my approach to supporting clients.
Languages
If Russian is your first language, please know that I can provide therapy in Russian as well.
